Position Available: Electronic Commerce Specialist

Date: 03/17/99

Hourly Rate: 28,000 - 35,000 base plus quarterly bonuses

  

 

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The electronic commerce specialist coordinates the development of electronic applications and on-line marketing activities. This person works with MIS or external vendors to create electronic applications, via the Internet, fax, email, pager, etc., for customer or independent contractor use. Responsible for ongoing Internet and intranet development and modification in conjunction with graphics designer. This position will handle on-line promotional opportunities including search engine, mailing list and newsgroup maintenance and usage tracking and reporting. Also responsible for the management, development and distribution of on-line information resources.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquirers or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

  • Excellent oral communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively present information to management and department.
    		•
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    		•
  • Lotus Notes Development.
    		•
  • Knowledge of web development tools - HTML, Java Script, Visual basic.

  • Understanding of desktop publishing and graphic requirements.
