 SET FORMATION    This set is from County Armagh, Ireland.  It was originally a buck set (for eight gents).

 SET FORMATION    First side couple is left of the first top couple.

 SET FORMATION    High gates:  With a gent in the middle of two ladies, all holding closest hands in a line,

              form an arch for a lady to dance under;  the gent follows the lady;  the dance-under-

             the-arch order differs for the two high gates herein.

 SET FORMATION    Swing in waltz hold.

 SET FORMATION    Gents dance forward on the left foot and ladies begin forward on the right foot.

 SET FORMATION    Bar counts (quantities of measures) for dance patterns are shown in bold.

 SET FORMATION    The total bar count for each Figure includes an eight-bar introduction of music.

 SET FORMATION    Documentation is based upon a workshop taught by Pat Murphy at Milwaukee,

             Wisconsin USA in August 1998.

 SET  FORMATION   FIGURE 1 -- JIGS (104 BARS)    Dance an ordinary jig step (down-2-3).
All couples: take crossed-hand (rights on top) and lead around anticlockwise8;
REPEAT  "MARKER" while gents dance in-place, ladies dance clockwise half-way around the set
          (inside the set) and face the opposite gent4;
new couples dance a no-touch back-to-back, beginning right-shoulder-to-right-
          shoulder4;
while ladies dance in-place, gents dance anticlockwise half-way
          around the set (inside the set)and face original partner4;
original couples dance a no-touch back-to-back, beginning right-shoulder-to-

          in-right and turn the lady under anticlockwise as both partners

          advance and retire once (no-touch)4;
          dance no-touch back-to-back (begin left-shoulder-to-left)4;
          advance and retire once4;
          face and dance anticlockwise (no-touch) around the corner-
          partner and end facing original partner4;
dance at home, in waltz hold (two revolutions)8;
Top couples:

with their left couple :

          square:  gents dance clockwise outside the ladies who dance

          anticlockwise to the first corner of a square(2); dance on-the-spot
          while turning to face the next corner of the square(2); repeat the
          preceding four-bar pattern three times(12); turn the lady under
          anticlockwise as both partners dance to-place at home
          (right-hand-in-right)16.
All couples: dance at home in waltz hold (two revolutions)8;

repeat from   REPEAT  "MARKER"   with side couples dancing with their left couples

 SET  FORMATION   FIGURE 5 -- REELS (136 BARS)    Dance an ordinary reel step (lift-2-3-4).
All couples: take crossed-hand (rights on top) and lead around anticlockwise8;
Top couples: REPEAT  "MARKER" gents and corner-ladies dance at home, making two revolutions as all
          others dance in-place6; to home2.
All couples: swing in waltz hold8.
Side couples: repeat the three lines above16.
All couples: chain:   top gents give right-hand-in-right and turn three-quarters around in the
          center(6); give left hands to the gent on the original right(2); all gents give
          right hands to and dance around the lady they are facing (top gents to
          a side lady and side gents to a top lady)(4); all dance to home with top
          gents dancing inside the right-side gents(2); give left hands to and dance
          around original partners to-place(2)   16;

          visiting lady then partner8.
