Charles was born in East Liverpool, OH in 1940 to Charles B. and Anna (Dotson) Stewart. One of two boys, he graduated from East Liverpool in 1958. While pursuing his degree, he worked at Crucible Steel and joined in the US Army Reserve Corps, eventually transitioning into the Active Duty Corps in the 1980s. Upon retirement from military service, he relocated to Gulf Breeze, FL, where he currently resides.
