The War Cry
The Average American Fighting Man

Anthony Paul Garcia is the son of proud parents Edward and JoAnne (Hissom) Garcia of East Liverpool.  Anthony’s life as a Marine began when he was a very small boy.  Anthony’s father Ed was also a Marine and Anthony always intended on following him into becoming a Devil Dog.  After attending St. Aloysius School and then East Liverpool High School, Anthony graduated as a Potter of the class of 2005.  He played some football, wrestling, and soccer during his years at East Liverpool High School.  All the while he had his sites on the Marines.

When he was fifteen years old, he “signed up” at a county fair.  A letter came a few weeks later stating the appreciation of the Marine Corp for Anthony’s interest, but he would have to wait a couple more years.  He signed up again for the Delayed Entry Program before his senior year.  After finally going off to Parris Island, NC in November of 2006 – he became a Marine in February of 2007.

Anthony furthered his training at Camp Johnson, NC as a Diesel Technician and becoming a Private First Class in June of 2006.  Returning home, Anthony is with the 4th LSE Co-4th MLG Reserve Unit of the USMC in Vienna, OH.  In January of 2007 he was promoted to Lance Corporal and has just returned from Okinawa, Japan.  Anthony is employed with Hill International of Calcutta.
