Into the Fifth Year I

The ride from daycare to the public library was a short one, but the roads were too bumpy for her to use her special drawing board.  This made her sad, as you can see.

A few minutes later, Ava's found a much more stable desk to work with.  Every time we go to the library, she enjoys having me move the one wooden step-stool next to another to make this desk-car-bed contraption, for make-believe play and for real use.

Watching the "Beatles" at the county fair.  Ava was a little suspicious as to whether these were the real Beatles or not, especially since it looked like George had really let himself go.

With her favorite catch of the day, the pink unicorn that she won at one of the games.

On the carousel with Mommy.

Sharing a car on the kangaroo ride with another girl.

Ava and I were done with our banking and about to leave when she noticed that the television there was showing The Little Mermaid, so she settled in to watch it until the end.

The next destination was the local park, where the static electricity hair phenomenon showed up as expected.

Wow...

At last, we all agreed on what bike Ava should get.  Soon after this, she was at home riding it around.

Showing me one of the many maple tree seeds that she'd collected from the driveway.

In the middle of saying "Mom" while asking Mommy a question.

And posing with the Mom in question.

Fall is here again!

Enjoying the Balloon-a-Fair once again, this time with a balloon shirt and nearly identical balloon toy.

Minutes later, they were all airborne.

One of the balloons, done with the camera set to photograph only those colors in the pink range.

A detail of the full-size version of the same image.

Just like last year, Ava got a pony done at the face painting booth.

Waiting with me for Mommy to get done with her clothes shopping.

Mommy reads a story from one of Ava's favorite princess books.

Grampa John helps his three youngest granddaughters into a cockpit at MAPS Air Museum after a Sunday pancake breakfast on the first day of October.

Some sort of booster seat is needed here, I think, if we're to rely on her in combat.

Watching a helecopter take off nearby with cousins Morgan and Megan.

Cousin Morgan and a Fireman are interested in what we're doing here...

Having fun with the big steering wheel of the fire truck with Cousin Megan.

More face painting, this time at the pumpkin farm.  Ava got hearts on one side, and...

... a butterfly on the other.

Some of the Indian Corn there, and some of the dust on it seen with the macro function on the camera.

Posing for me at the new library in town, which Ava and I have visited many times since it opened a few weeks ago.

Singing one of her own impromptu songs for Mommy and I on a Saturday morning in October.  This one was about seashells, if I recall correctly.
