The next morning was her first full day at all-day kindergarten. She
had a swell time...no complaints at all. And she rode the bus home!
Stepping off the bus at the end of our driveway at the end of day two.
Waiting at the doctor's with me one afternoon in September.
For fun, Ava tried on Cousin Valerie's Prom Dress from a few months ago...
...luckily, Ava's recent growth spurt meant that it fit her pretty nicely.
October 19th: Underneath the neighborhood maple tree that
is always the first to turn color each fall.
Ava's drawings have been getting much more
detailed and informative. This is just part of a drawing that
she did that illustrates her and her friends and where they sit in
their kindergarten class. Note her name card and her friend
Ethan's that both are upside down (Ava would be identifiable by her
curly blonde hair, too, I guess) and the stuffed toys that each has
in front of them.
Her first wearing of this year's Halloween
costume...an Asian Princess.
...and ten days later, just before the actual
trick-or-treat time started.
This year's pumpkins were hand painted by Ava and
depict herself (L) and Brother Alec (R). I like the blue eyes
in both.
"Alec's diaper needs to be changed and I am
so not doing it!"
Ava and I were watching Meet the Press
(well, I was watching it while Ava was nearby and Mommy was in the
bedroom). I saw Ava watching Hillary Clinton talking, and I
said to her, "That lady wants to be the next president. That
would make her the first woman president ever. Do you
think that she should be the next president?"
Ava replied, "I think that Mommy should be the
next president."
