Sharing a cart with Brother Alec at Target in the
weeks before Christmas.
And swooping in for a smooch a few minutes later.
Bowling with her Kindergarten friend Emily (left)
at Emily's birthday party the next day.
I hadn't taken a picture of her at a McDonald's in
some time, so I took this one a few weeks before Christmas.
Waiting for Mommy to get a few things at a
store...One up, one down.
The last dance class before Christmas was a parent-observation
night,
which means (as it appears here) that the parents
often are
the ones who are observed.
Another one from that night.
One of the first gifts that Ava opened Christmas
morning was one that she wanted the most...a Backyardigans toy.
She also found the pickle ornament on the tree (again!) and as a
result got a special gift.
Pretending to do a runway model's walk for me at
the library in the first days of the new year.
Ava and I had the first week of the year off
together (Alec was in daycare, Mommy was at work) and we did several
things together, like going for bagels at our favorite place in
town, where she likes to sit at the counter by the sunny window.
Coloring with Cousin Megan at Cousin Morgan's
eleventh birthday party.
Arriving at the donut shop on the morning of the
MLK, Jr. holiday, when Ava and I had no school. You'd think
that there'd be more smiles here, because WE
WERE ARRIVING AT THE DONUT SHOP.
OK, there's a smirk at least.
This is the first shot that I've gotten of them
playing together, mostly because their playing lasted for several
minutes and not just a few seconds....Alec's attention span is
getting better these days.
... a few minutes later.
Playing by herself nicely while Brother Alec gets
all of the attention during his first haircut.
Watching shows about Disney World when Aunt Sessie
and family stopped by in early February.
