| The ablative can express the time when an action takes
place. This is an adverbial ablative use that does not require a
preposition in Latin. Here are some examples:
prima luce domo discesserunt, "they left home at dawn". septimo anno domum rediimus, "in the seventh year we returned home." The ablative of time when specifies a specific moment for an action taking place. See the Related Topics for more expressions of time. |
