Present Active Infinitive

To form the present active infinitive, take the stem, add the thematic vowel, and add -re.  Note: the second principal part of the verb is the present active infinitive.
Verb Infinitive
amo, amare, amavi, amatum amare
debeo, debere, debui, debitum debere
rego, regere, rexi, rectum regere
capio, capere, cepi, captum capere
audio, audire, audivi, auditum audire

Infinitives do not decline.

The present active infinitive is generally translated like, "to verb".
