Shown below are simple representations of each of the 20 naturally occuring amino acids. If you are using Netscape Navigator 3.0 or higher as your browser, moving the pointer over any structure will cause the classification of the amino acid (either polar, non-polar, acidic, or basic) to be displayed on the status bar near the bottom of the screen. Clicking on a structure will cause an interactive 3-dimensional picture to appear (which requires the Chime plug-in to be loaded).
