FABULOUS POINTS PROJECT |
| First, you need to attend ONE of two events going on this spring. It doesn't matter which event you attend. But you have to attend at ONE event to get those fabulous points. (Sorry, but only one event per customer per semester.) (1) The first event is Silence Broken here at Stark on Friday, April 18, 2008. The event starts at 7 PM and will be held in the Main Auditorium of Main Hall. Contact Dr. Hart if you need more info. The Silence Broken event will have Dr. Kim-Gibson screen her award winning documentary on the Korean "comfort women" who were made into sex slaves for the Japanese military in the 1930s and 1940s. (2) The second event "All Politics is Local" at Walsh University on Saturday, April 26, 2008. Sessions run from 9 AM until 3 PM. For more info please contact Dr. Koop Berry at Walsh. Second, you will need to write a take-home paper about the session discussions and how they are relevant to the lessons of this course, of course! Be sure to invoke course readings and ideas in an intelligent and compelling fashion. Third, turn in that brilliant, typed, 2 page paper NO LATER than the start of the Monday class following the event. The "All Politics is Local" conference can be emailed to me before the start of final week. (Be sure to follow the format for the infamous Take Home Assignments set out in the syllabus or you do not get full points). Should you do the project, I will substitute the extra credit paper grade for your lowest quiz grade. Be sure to provide a nifty and cool title on your paper so I know which conference and session you attended! Sound easy? Sound fun? Of course it is! And don't forget, the paper is worth a maximum of 4 points. If you have any questions, just contact Dr. Hart. |
