Class Schedule, Reading Assignments and Online Notes
Oceanography - Spring 2007

All readings are from Garrison's "Oceanography:  An Invitation to Marine Science".  Students may use either the 4th or the 5th Edition.  Although not specifically listed below, students should also read the prologue at the beginning of each chapter and the various review sections at the end of each chapter.

Click on a lecture topic below to access the online notes for that lecture.  In most cases, these notes are taken directly from the slides presented during class, though scheduling issues may cause minor differences from the actual material presented during class.  Please note that some material presented in class (e.g., reviews for exams and discussions of the most frequently missed exam questions) is not posted to the web.

Availability of online notes:  Online notes are posted by 5 pm the day before the lecture (e.g., Monday at 5pm for Tuesday's lecture).  Technical difficulties, such as large-scale disruption of internet service, can however delay this schedule.  In these cases, notes are posted as soon as it is possible.  Notes will remain available though the end of the semester (i.e., through the end of finals week).
