Hello my name is Eiffey Anne-Andrée Thérèse Adou and I am a native of the Ivory Coast. I am a native french speaker and the only child of two lovely parents Germain and Christiane Adou.
Growing up, I went to an all girl's high school directed by nuns. It was a really interesting and enriching experience for we had a lot of subjects such as swimming, cooking, sewing, scientific and artistic drawing, physical science, history, geography, mathematics, biology, civics and moral education physical education, French, English and an optional foreign languages (either Spanish or German). So that is how I spent the first 18 years of my life in my homecountry, by going to school and hanging out with girlfriends. Those years were also characterized by some traveling that I did by going to Sénégal, France, Great Britain and United States.
In january 8, 2001 I arrived from the Ivory Coast where I had recently graduated. It was a whole new world. After 6 months of intensive English at Interlink language center of Indiana State University, I was ready to begin my first semester in an American university in August 2001. Four years later, I graduated cum laude from Indiana State University with a double major in English and Spanish.
I am currently pursuing my master in translation from Spanish into English at Kent State University. Why Spanish and not French? Because besides English, Spanish is the second language that fascinates me. My love for this language increased through the trip that I made in my junior year during the summer of 2004 to Segovia, Spain. There I felt even more in love with the Spanish culture since then I haven't stopped. Today my interest and love for the latine culture have increased so I decided to give it a try and here I am. |
