My name is Fawn Homan. Currently, I am first-year graduate student working toward a Master's degree in German–English translation from Kent State University. My goal is to obtain an internship for the Summer of 2006, where I could utilize and expand upon my foreign language and translation skills.

A native English speaker from Wisconsin, I've had the opportunity to strengthen my foreign language skills and broaden my cultural knowledge and understanding through my studies at various European institutes and universities. These studies have now brought me to Kent, Ohio. At Kent State University, the Master of Arts in Translation program prepares its students for the various areas of translation. The two–year program includes mandatory courses in:

• literary translation
• scientific/ technical/ medical translation
• commercial/ legal/ diplomatic translation
• project management
• software localization
• terminology management

As a translator who will forever be drawn to foreign languages and new cultures, I thoroughly enjoy my role as an intermediary of intercultural communication. I look forward to doing the same for you!
