Okay i went nuts tonight and updated my SNZ record store like you wouldn't
believe. (thanks to koby for inspiration to get my ass in gear)

Check it out, if not to buy anything, just to "ooh" and "aah"

big plus: i found a ton of rare recordings you can buy online, AND....NO
GRAPHICS!! (okay, lots less graphics. there are SOME...still got the fish!)

OH...and i MOVED it too...to get rid of XOOM ads and to be able to use
Javascript. the rest of the site is moving as well, but more on that later.
so don't click on any within-the-page links (feel free to click on purchase
links or other site links! they work!)

please go! I love you!

Okay, so i'm a big dork.

I intern at Ideal Records, which is the Dust Brothers' label. They're
never actually in the offices, and tend to stay up in the studio a few
blocks up the hill.

But friday afternoon, one of the girls in the office was leaving for
another job and we had a small party, and John and Mike (aka the
Brothers) came down. they were pretty cool, but i totally spaced about
asking them about the whole remix of "Suits" until about 9:00 that night
when i was at a Saint Etienne show.

oh well. Ideal is distributed by Mammoth, so it makes more than a little
sense. and i'm excited because mammoth's L.A. offices are going to be
moving in next door to us. yay! so hopefully i can keep abreast of the
latest Zipper happenings.

okay and BIG BIG NEWS:

I have moved, updated, and tweaked the Passed Out on the Landing website.
It's now at:

http://www.personal.kent.edu/~jbrandt

I know that's a sucky long URL but it's AD FREE, i can use JAVA,
and....well, it's ad free.

I've checked ALL the links to make sure they work, found NEW links for each
band, and now have time to work on all the other pages (like a charities
page, BFF, Jazz Squad, etc)

And of course, the friggin' awesome huge store where you can find anything
your little plastic platinum heart desires (not just amazon links
anymore, baby!)

Please stop by the new place and sign the lonely guestbook. it's lonely, i
swear.

and check out the SNZ media Archive. If you have anything to add, please
tell me!!

tell me!

okay i am worn out from doing this now...

It seems that lots of people on this list like Ben Folds Five, so I guess
i'd post this. They will be on Leno tonight (don't know if it's a repeat or
not). I saw a BFF cd/vhs video packet at boarders, and it said there was
home video behind the scenes studio footage of the recording of "Army" and
many others...maybe Tom and Ken are in it.

Just saw BOF in Chicago. They played Gris-Gris for the first time in over a
year. ABird kept going to the back of the stage when he goofed.
Fun show, mostly Grandeur songs, just odd to see them in daylight.
Kevin O seemed delighted that I asked about Heretic Blues (and where to get
it) but didn't have any copies on hand...DRAT.

Tonight on BET jazz is the 1958 Timex All-star jazz show, preforming are:
Louis Armstrong and his all stars, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Jack
Teagarden, Gene Krupa, and many many more. It also has my all time favorite
piece of video, the only time Louis Armstrong and Dizzy Gillespie ever
appeared on tv together (they do a trumpet/vocal duet with "Umbrella Man").
And at the end of the show everybody gets together to sing "When the saints
go marching in" (and a drum call and answer with Gene Krupa & Zutty
Singlton). I highly suggest watching it, I think its on at 11:00pm (check
local listings).

Tom and Ken weren't on Leno w/BFF (although it was a smashing performance)
and they aren't in the "Spare Reels" video either. Unless you're a bff fan,
don't waste your $$ on it :P

I'm going to see Andrew at the Grog in Cleveland. should be a nice time.
The grog is TINY...and i can't imagine there'll be many people there. Let's
hope i get my damn copy of Heretic Blues before then...grrr...Oh, and
hopefully i can take pics!

weird thing: I had a dream about SNZ last night. I'm sure it came from the
10 hours i was worning on the CD before bed. oddly enough, i've never had
one before. i don't remember what it was about, but i remember jim was in
it, and i remember waking up thinking "huh, just a dream..." Anyone else
dream of SNZ?

I think it's a sign of withdrawl...

Jess
