During the Leadership Group sessions, the participants often worked in small groups and then reported their conclusions. The reporter usually spoke in Albanian, then the translator (in the yellow shirt) would repeat every line in English. If anyone, participant or facilitator, had a comment, that had to be translated back into Albanian. This was a time-consuming and often inaccurate way of communicating.

This photo was taken at Jill's apartment in Skaptopara residence hall. We had an "International Dinner" that included dishes from various countries (a Russian salad with crab and corn, an Albanian spinich pie, etc) and the U.S. contribution was cake (from a mix.) Albert learned how to use the mixer and made this lovely chocolate/vanilla swirl cake! We told him (we think - it was through a translator) this would impress women, and he should pin this picture to his shirt. He bought a hand mixer before he left to go home to Kosovo! Albert is sporting his brand-new AUBG t-shirt (with the American flag and Bulgarian type one one side, the Bulgarian flag and in English on the other side.)
