The things that we'll do for science! While an undergraduate at Brown University, I spent a summer field season assisting Alison Smith who was a graduate student at Brown University at the time. Dr. Smith, who is now a member of the faculty at Kent State University, was studying Ostracods in midwestern lakes as paleo environmental indicators. Some of the lakes were more difficulty to reach than others!
