Using E-mail

From time to time I may need to contact you by email during the course. For security reasons, we will use university login accounts only to send and receive messages. If you are using webmail and require a copy of the message, make sure to cc a copy to one of your email accounts. Instructions on how to activate your university login, how to access your mail securely from any web browser, and how to forward mail to another email account can be found through the Kent State University Helpdesk (330-672-HELP or 330-672-2031).

As an added benefit, students in Principles of Stratigraphy can view their grades online from a secure site using WebCT Vista, but this can only be done using your university login account.

To access WebCT Vista, login to flashline portal (http://flashline.kent.edu), then click to "My Classes" and login to WebCT Vista to access your grades online. Follow the instructions to login to WebCT Vista, then to view your grades click on the Stratigraphy class link.

You can also access WebCT Vista directly to view your grades by clicking here to go to WebCT Vista. There is also a link available on the class grading policy page.

IMPORTANT! Don't forget to logout from WebCT Vista after you have checked your grades. You remain logged in even if you switch to another page. Quit the browser program after you are done with the session.
