I am currently working to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. I am minoring in Vocal Performance as well as completing course work for a Disability and Community Inclusion Certificate. I developed an interest in Speech Pathology when my favorite school bus driver suffered a stroke and became communication impaired. I saw how this affected his quality of life and watched him return to “himself” as he worked with a Speech Therapist. I hope to attend graduate school to obtain a master’s degree in Speech – Language Pathology and then eventually my PhD. I plan to someday work with atypical children, as well as to use my vocal performance training to specialize in working with individuals who earn a living with their voice. I am involved in Operation Smile at Kent as well as the NSSLHA organization.
