For readers of The Urantia Book

Welcome!  It is a pleasure to offer these resources, revised a bit in June 2009.  This site is for students of The Urantia Book, but in case you are new to it, welcome!  Here's a quick introduction.  We are to form thousands of study groups the world over.  Study, however, is more than reading, expressing opinions, and socializing.  No matter how essential these things are, there is a lot involved, as the book itself makes clear, in study.  In fact, this site is loaded with resources for individual or group study.  In addition, we are to train leaders and teachers.

The authors highlight various high leverage projects for planetary advancement.  Some of them are featured in these documents.

  1. Personal spiritual growth, highlighted in many of these essays.

  2. "The religious challenge of this age," to construct a new philosophy of living.  This project outlines an integrated spirituality, embracing science, philosophy, spiritual experience, the beauties of nature, the charm of intellectual art, morality, and the grandeur of genuine character achievement.   I have drafted a popular version of this project, available online, and another book is in the pipeline that will be appropriate for use in higher education.

  3. Revitalize the gospel movement.  The gospel is the core of the religion of Jesus, the living truth of the Fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man in its many-sided dynamism.  I lead an internet gospel school for students who wish to deepen their understanding of this infinite, divine, and eternal truth, to live it more fully, and to communicate it more effectively to others.

  4. "The great hope" of our planet has to do with "the possibility of a new revelation of Jesus with a new and enlarged presentation of his saving message which would spiritually unite in loving service the numerous families of his present-day professed followers."  In context, this project is portrayed as being carried out in two ways: first, by revelatory living and, second, by sharing the book itself.  Readers who discover the life-transforming power of the truths in the pages of the book naturally desire to share it with many people.  But what are the principles explicit and implicit in the book itself that guide us in doing so wisely?  How shall we introduce The Urantia Book in accord with its teachings?
