Potential Graduate Students –
If you are interested in research on topics such as social relationships, gender attitudes, poverty, stigma, social support, discrimination, or health outcomes you may want to consider becoming a graduate assistant in our lab. As a member of our lab, you will typically begin collaborating with an ongoing research project and as you advance through the program you will have opportunities to develop your own independent lines of research. It is advantageous for applicants to have previous research experience; however it is not necessary to have research experience on any particular topic. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at kmickels@kent.edu .
Potential Undergraduate Research Assistants –
Becoming a research assistant could be of interest to you if you want to learn more about psychological research or are thinking about going to graduate school. Some of the potential responsibilities in the lab include conducting interviews, entering and analyzing data, gathering articles, and attending lab meetings. Our lab reviews applications for undergraduate research assistants each semester for fall, spring, and summer assistants. The application to apply as a research assistant is located here.
