    This non-progressive, two-hand, 32-bar dance is to begin with dancers in waltz hold.
    Couples take positions around the perimeter of the dance floor with gents having their
              backs toward the center;  the line of dance is anticlockwise.  See footnote.
    Dance an ordinary hornpipe step (lift-2-3-4) and sevens (1-2-3-4-5-6-7).
    Gents dance forward on the left foot and ladies begin forward on the right foot.
    Bar counts (quantities of measures) for patterns are shown in bold.

  SET FORMATION   HORNPIPES (VARIABLE BARS)
Dance in : REPEAT "MARKER" in waltz hold, dance to the side in the line of dance    gents dance
          to the left and ladies dance to the right1;
Dance against : dance to the side against the line of dance    gents dance
          to the right and ladies dance to the left1;
Half turn : dance one-half turn clockwise as partners change places2;
Dance against : dance to the side against the line of dance  gents dance
          to the left and ladies dance to the right1;
Dance in : dance to the side in the line of dance    gents dance
          to the right and ladies dance to the left1;
Half turn : dance one-half turn clockwise as partners change places2;
Sevens in/against : dance sevens to the side and return    in, then against
          the line of dance4;
Full turn : dance one complete clockwise turn4;
Sevens in : dance sevens to the side in the line of dance2;
Back to back in : turn back to back (gents clockwise, ladies anticlockwise), take
          uncrossed-hands behind and continue sevens in the line of dance2;
Bk to bk against : still holding hands behind, dance sevens against the line of dance2;
Sevens against : turn to face (gents anticlockwise, ladies clockwise), take waltz hold
          and dance sevens against the line of dance2;
House : in waltz hold, dance forward* in the line of dance, turning four
          times (full house forward*)8.
repeat from   REPEAT "MARKER"   as desired.
  
* If the Back to Back Hornpipe is being danced free [in the available
          space while others are dancing another hornpipe pattern], couples
          may dance in-place, making two clockwise revolutions (dance
          at home).
