This two-hand, 48-bar, progressive dance is to begin with two dancers facing two
dancers (square or cerchio siciliano [Sicilian circle]) in a ring around the dance area
(gent on the left). The two couples dance the first two parts of the pattern together,
then dance apart and each couple forms a new cerchio siciliano.
The dance is also known as WALTZ COUNTRY DANCE.
The line of dance is anticlockwise; dance either IN the line of dance (thus anticlockwise
around the hall) or AGAINST the line-of-dance (thus clockwise around the hall).
Gents dance forward on the left foot and ladies dance forward on the right foot.
Bar counts (quantities of measures) for patterns are shown in bold.
