| | CROOKED RIVER SET |
| © 2008

| | This is NOT a traditional set of Ireland. |
| | This set was composed in April 2004 in Summit County Ohio USA, one of the counties |
| where the Crooked (Cuyahoga) River flows. | |
| | Sweetheart hold: A couple stands side-by-side, facing the same direction, with the gent |
| on the left. The gent places his right arm across the ladys shoulder and they take | |
| right-hand-in-right at the ladys right shoulder and left-hand-in-left in front. | |
| Hand and arm positions are reversed during the turn of the advance and retire | |
| of Figure Three. | |
| | A five-step pattern (walk, walk, 3-4-5) is danced for advancing and retiring. |
| | Alternatively, dance the lift-2-3-4 step instead of a doubled step in all figures. Light |
| (gentle, quiet) battering only may be danced throughout the set. | |
| | Gents dance forward on the left foot and ladies begin forward on the right foot. |
| | Bar counts (quantities of measures) for patterns are shown in bold. |
| | The total bar count for each Figure includes an eight-bar introduction of music. |
