This set, also known as the CARAGH LAKE POLKA, is from the Caragh Lake |
| area of south County Kerry, Ireland. | |
| |
The tempo (speed) for the music for the first five Figures is to be fast. |
| |
The step for Figures 1 through 5 is down-2-3 and it is to be danced very |
| flatly (low to the floor). | |
| |
Swing in waltz hold. |
| |
Chain: With a waist-level hold for all contacts, ladies give right hands in the center |
| and dance on to, and give left hand to the opposite gent; couples dance around | |
| one another (no arch) and the ladies chain with one another when returning to home. | |
| |
Gents dance forward on the left foot and ladies begin forward on the right foot. |
| |
Bar counts (quantities of measures) for patterns are shown in bold. |
| |
The total bar count for each Figure includes an eight-bar introduction of music. |
| |
First side couple is on the left of the first top couple. |
| |
