Dance an ordinary polka step (down-2-3) for Figures 1 through 4 and an ordinary |
| hornpipe step for Figure 5 (lift-2-3-4 and in-2-3, out-2-3). | |
| |
Back the lady quarterhouse: In waltz-hold, dance this four-bar pattern four times: |
| with gents dancing forward and ladies dancing backward, dance to the position | |
| on the right2, then dance one clockwise turn at that position2. | |
| |
Double: The final two bars of the final full house of each Figure may be doubled. |
| |
Ladies chain: With a waist-level hold for all contacts, ladies give right hands in the |
| center then left hands to the opposite gent; the lady dances anticlockwise around | |
| the gent and the gent follows the lady (no arch); ladies do not chain on the | |
| way home. | |
| |
Swing and House in waltz hold. |
| |
Gents begin forward on the left foot and ladies begin forward on the right foot. |
| |
Bar counts (quantities of measures) for patterns are shown in bold. |
| |
The total bar count for each Figure includes an eight-bar introduction of music. |
