    This set, also known as the SLATE QUARRY LANCERS, is from County Kilkenny, Ireland.
    Gents dance forward on the left foot and ladies begin forward on the right foot.
    Bar counts for dance patterns are shown in bold.
    The total bar count for each Figure includes an eight-bar introduction of music. 
              All batter during the final two bars of the introductionA description of the batter
              step was not available as of the edition date.
    First Side couple is on the right of the first top couple.

    FIGURE 1 -- POLKAS (104 BARS)  
Dance an ordinary polka step (down-2-3).
Top couples: REPEAT "MARKER"  first top gent and second top lady swing in the center in ceili hold;
          dance into the set (two bars); swing one and one-half revolutions;
          end the swing facing homes (four bars) then dance forward to
          respective homes (two bars)8.
All couples: swing corner partner in ceili hold6; batter-step to original partner2;
swing original partner in ceili hold8;
repeat from   REPEAT "MARKER"   with second top gent/first top lady, first side gent/second
          side lady, then second side gent/first side lady leading; end the final
          swing with all in the center in a big Christmas hold (arms at backs,
          in a huddle)72.

Dance an ordinary polka step (down-2-3).
Top couples: REPEAT "MARKER" house each other in waltz hold; on bar six, side couples split-off
          for four-facing-four and all hold closest (inside) hands8.
Lines of four: advance and retire twice; all batter (left, batter-right, left, right) when
          advancing and a swinging step when retiring (1-2-3-4 or 1-2, 123)8.
All couples: swing original partner at home in ceili hold (ends of lines dance to home
          in two bars and swing in ceili hold for six bars)8.

Dance ordinary hornpipe steps, lift-2-3-4 and 1-2-3-4-5-6-7.
Top couples: REPEAT "MARKER" first top couple:  in waltz hold, dance sevens in and out once4;
          still in waltz hold, dance two revolutions while moving toward the first
          position on the right; double the last two bars ( lift-2-3-4, lift-2-3-4
          then step1-step2-step3-step4); change ladies, with the new lady
          stepping out to meet the dancing gent as his partner dances backward
          into the position of the lady originally on the right of the leading couple4;
first top gent dances the eight-bar pattern above with each successive lady
          he has collected from his right, keeping the fourth lady at his home24.
All couples: repeat from   REPEAT "MARKER"  with first side gent, second top gent, then second side gent
          and his new partner leading96;
sevens-square to opposite in waltz hold; dance 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 forward, turn
          one-quarter clockwise; dance backward to opposite4;
          house to home, doubling the final two bars into a big Christmas huddle4.
    FIGURE 8 -- JIGS (120 BARS)
Dance an ordinary jig step (down-2-3).
All couples: REPEAT  "MARKER" take hands in a circle and advance and retire twice, battering8;
original partners swing in ceili hold8;
change partners and lead around :
          as gents dance in-place, ladies dance outside the set to the next position
          on the right; take open waltz hold2; lead around anticlockwise to
          the gents' home6;
repeat from   REPEAT  "MARKER"   until original partners lead around72.
take hands in a circle and advance and retire twice, battering8;
swing in ceili hold8;
