    Gents dance forward on the left foot and ladies begin forward on the right foot.
    Bar counts (quantities of measures) for patterns are shown in bold.
    The total bar count for each Figure includes an eight-bar introduction of music.
    First side couple is on the left of the first top couple.
    Documentation is based upon a workshop taught by Mary Clancy at Labasheeda,
              Ireland in September 1999.

  SET FORMATION   FIGURE 1 -- REELS (120 BARS)   Little Christmas
Dance an ordinary reel step (lift-2-3-4).
All couples: take hands in a circle and advance and retire twice (step, step, 3-4-5;  back,
          back, 3-4-5)8;
swing original partner in waltz hold8.
First top couple: R E P E A T " M A R K E R " house inside in waltz hold8.
Top couples: with their left couples:  little Christmas6; reverse to home2;
All couples: full house in waltz hold8.

Dance an ordinary reel step (lift-2-3-4).

high gate with lady on the left; keep the high hands from the house inside
         above (lady’s right in the gent’s left); the gent gives his right hand 
         underneath his left arm (arch) to the lady on the left and she dances
         through the arch; the lady dances anticlockwise around the first top
         couple as the first top lady dances left around her partner and passes
         under an arch twice (holding hands close to the gent’s chest); the left
         lady then dances under an arch and to home; the gent follows each lady
         under the arch. [Under-the-arch order :  visiting lady, home lady
         twice then visiting lady]8.

          in a column of two facing out of the set with the first top couple in
          front (gents on the left)8.
Second top couple: they and second side couple house around each other in waltz hold and end
          in the same column of two as above with the second top couple at the
          rear of the column (gents on the left)8.
All couples: lead-off; dance two small circles (in file) with gents dancing to the left and ladies
          dancing to the right8;
first top couple (the leading couple) form an arch with uncrossed hands at the
          end of the second lead-off circle and all couples dance through, in waltz
          hold, and around the house to home8;
full house in waltz hold8.

          couple leading by housing first with the couple on their left; the leading
