When opposites dance in the center, their respective partners (solo dancers) dance in-place. |

Jig step (Figure 1): down-2-3, down-2-3 then down, down, 123 when dancing in-place |
| and when dancing forward or backward. When a pattern involves dancing forward or | |
| backward, pause in one place and dance the down, down, 123 on-the-spot. | |
