SPANISH  JIVE

	This progressive, two-hand, sixteen-bar dance is danced in various holds around the
	perimeter of the dance floor — a big circle / oval with gents on the inside.  (At some
	sites, and when not danced progressively, the dance is danced free in the available
	space while others dance another 4/4 rhythm pattern.)
	The line of dance (LOD) is anticlockwise.
	Gents dance forward on the left foot and ladies initially dance on the right foot.
	Bar counts (quantities of measures) for patterns are shown in bold.
	Documentation is based upon a workshop led by Gerard Butler November 1, 2008,
	at Ellenville, New York USA.  Ger reported the dance is neither "Spanish" nor "jive."

ANY MODERATE-TEMPO 4/4 TUNE (VARIABLE BARS)

	FORWARD IN THE LOD
All couples :	partners face and take uncrossed, open-palmed hands (may casually interlink
	fingers) at shoulder-height; dance forward in the line of dance
	swaying/rolling hands in rhythm2;
	AGAINST THE LOD
	still holding hands as above, partners dance backward in the LOD2;
	JIVE
	form and arch with the gent's left and the lady's right arms and the lady
	dances a half-turn clockwise under the arch (in-place; partners
	don't change places); the gent dances in-place2;
	still holding hands as above, ladies dance a half-turn anticlockwise under the
	arch to her place; the gent dances in-place2;
	FORWARD IN THE LOD
	take inside hands and dance 1-2-3-kick forward in the LOD2;
	AGAINST THE LOD
	still holding inside hands, partners dance 1-2-3-tap backward against the LOD2;
	DANCE AWAY FROM THE LOD
	all dancing 1-2-3-clap/clap/clap, gents dance sideways toward the center (left)
	and ladies dance sideways to the outside of the files (right)2;
	CHANGE PARTNERS
	ladies dance sideways toward the center (left) to their original place and
	gents dance on an angle (right and forward) the the next lady in the
	files of dancers2;
	REPEAT
	repeat from     as desired.
