    Dance in set dance formation (four couples in a square).
    Dance an ordinary old-time waltz step (down-2-3).
    After completion of the entire set-of-patterns once, dance them again or break the set
              apart and dance as couples until the music stops.
    Gents dance forward on the left foot and ladies begin forward on the right foot.
    Bar counts (quantities of measures) for patterns are shown in bold.
    The total bar count for each Figure includes an eight-bar introduction of music.
    First side couple is on the left of the first top couple.

  SET  FORMATION   FIGURE -- WALTZES (264 or 328 BARS MINIMUM)
First top couple: REPEAT "MARKER" house inside the set, in waltz hold8.
Top couples: ladies crossover (change places), turning twice clockwise (house to
          opposite alone)4;
gents crossover (change places), turning twice clockwise (house to
          opposite alone)4;
Side couples: ladies crossover, turning twice clockwise4;
gents crossover, turning twice clockwise4.
Top couples: house to home, in waltz hold4.
Side couples: house to home, in waltz hold4.
All couples: face partner, begin right-hand-in-right and chain with a lady’s-turn (gents
          dance anticlockwise and ladies dance clockwise); gents turn the lady
          under at each position; when meeting right-hand-in-right, turn
          anticlockwise; when meeting left-hand-in-left, turn clockwise16;

Alternate for the preceding sixteen bar pattern:
face partner, begin right-hand-in-right and chain with a balance up and back
          plus a lady’s-turn (gents dance anticlockwise and ladies dance clockwise);
          before the turn the lady under at each position as above, take hands
          with the next dancer in the circle and step forward and close with the other
          foot raising the hands to shoulder-height (balance up)2; lowering hands,
          step backward and close with the other foot (balance back)2; as above,
          when meeting right-hand-in-right, turn the lady under anticlockwise;
          when meeting left-hand-in-left,  turn the lady under clockwise32;

lead around anticlockwise, holding crossed-hands in front (rights on top)6;
turn-the-lady-under anticlockwise (four-hand hold) to a waltz hold2;
still in waltz hold, full house8.
repeat from   REPEAT "MARKER"  with first side couple, second top couple then second side
          couple leading. When a side couple leads, the side ladies then the side gents
          house to opposite first and side couples house to home first192 [or 240
          if the Alternate is danced].
