WEST  LIMERICK  SET

    This set is from County Limerick, Ireland.
    Chain:  With all hands at waist-level, ladies grasp and release right hands in the center
              and take left hands with the opposite gent (who has danced to his partner’s
              position) and they dance around one another twice (no arch);  the ladies
              do not touch when dancing to home.
    Back the lady quarterhouse:   In waltz-hold, dance this four-bar pattern four times:
              gents dance forward and ladies dance backward to the position on the right2;
              dance one clockwise turn, ending with the ladies’ backs to the next position
              on the right2.
    Swing in waltz hold.
    Gents dance forward on the left foot and ladies begin forward on the right foot.
    Bar counts (quantities of measures) for patterns are shown in bold.
    The total bar count for each Figure includes an eight-bar introduction of music.
    First side couple is on the right of the first top couple.
    Documentation is based upon a workshop taught by Fiona Buckley at Gaithersburg,
              Maryland USA on September 5, 1998.  Other versions are danced.

first top couple form an arch and both couples crossover and turn into
          one another to-place at opposite as follows:
          second top lady crosses to first top lady’s position (pass right-shoulder-
          to-right); still holding right hands, first top gent turns first top lady
          clockwise to his left-front forming an arch; the second top gent passes
          under the arch as the first top couple continues to opposite4;
repeat the advance and retire and crossover above with second top couple
          forming the arch as top couples dance to respective home8;
swing in waltz hold8.

ladies:   give right hands in the center then dance to and give left forearms to the
          opposite gent; dance around the gent twice; again give right hands in the
          center and dance to-place at home8;
