Often a four-bar introduction of music is played. |
| |
This non-progressive 32-bar two hand dance may be danced anticlockwise around the |
| perimeter of the dance area (the line of dance) or danced free that is, be danced | |
| in the available space while others dance this or another reel rhythm dance. | |
| |
Dance in waltz hold except as shown below. |
| |
Step: The FIVE-STEP pattern (step, step, 3-4-5 or slow, slow, quick-quick-slow) of two |
| hand and set dances is often danced in two bars of music. The FIVE-STEP of the | |
| WHITE HEATHER FOXTROT, however, is danced in four bars. The pace is | |
| slow. Dancers thus appear to be casually strolling throughout the dance. | |
| |
Gents dance forward on the left foot and ladies begin forward on the right foot. |
| |
Bar counts (quantities of measures) for patterns are shown in bold. |
| |
Documentation is based upon a video workshop led by Pat Murphy. |
