Documentation is based upon notes in Pat Murphy's The Flowing Tide. He wrote the |
| following about this half set. | |
| The set was preceded by the grand march. All couples marched up the centre of | |
| the floor, then parted, ladies circling to the right and gents circling to the left. All | |
| danced to the back to meet their partners again and continued up the center with them. | |
| This time, when they reached the top of the hall, the first couple circled off to the right, | |
| the second couple to the left and so on, all dancing to the back of the hall once more. | |
| They now marched up the center in lines of four. At the top, they formed half-sets | |
| across the hall. The dance finished with a grand chain around the hall, with gents going | |
| to the right and ladies to the left. When the partners met again, all danced a barn dance. | |
| (A sample barn dance is shown below.) | |
