Melissa’s Lesson Plan
Subject: Science
Topic: Animals http://www.nationalgeographic.com/
Objectives: At the end of the lesson I hope
that each student has an
understanding of the different types of animals and their environmental
lifestyles.
Procedures: Teacher: will bring in magazines
and extra index cards.
Student: will bring in 1 index card and one
option is to bring in a photograph of a family pet. The idea is to have them choose one picture and cut out the
photograph and then paste it on the index card. On the back put the animal and then as a whole class come up with
facts about the animal. That will then
make a flash card.
Evaluation: Before doing the flashcards have
the students write down on a sheet of paper what they know about the animals
they are going to make a flash card out of.
Then after the flashcards are made have the class work together on
different facts of each animal. See
what they know and have them help each other out. Also read them information about the animals when they need help
coming up with ideas. After everything
take the flashcards and quiz them on what they have learned.
Materials: magazines, photos, index cards,
glue sticks, scissors, and pencils
