Assignment:

  1. You will be assigned one of the following authors from Rereading America. YOU MUST CHOOSE A DIFFERENT AUTHOR FROM YOUR LAST RESEARCH ACTIVITY

World Cat

  1. Go to Cleveland State University Library’s web page
  2. Click "Indexes and Abstracts".
  3. Click "Alphabetical Title List of Indexes and Abstracts"
  4. Click "W"
  5. Click "WorldCat" (If you do this from off-campus, you will be directed to enter your name and CSU ID number. Do so, and you’ll be in).
  6. Do an "Author" search of your author.
  7. Record TWO books in either MLA or APA style by that author
  8. Click any two of the books. Write THREE subject descriptors exactly as they are listed.
  9. Click either of those subject descriptors. Record the names of TWO books in APA FORMAT ONLY.

  1. Return to Cleveland State University Library’s web page
  2. Click "Indexes and Abstracts".
  3. Click "Alphabetical Title List of Indexes and Abstracts"
  4. Click "A"
  5. Click "Academic Search Premier" (If you do this from off-campus, you will be directed to enter your name and CSU ID number. Do so, and you’ll be in).
  6. In the "Limit Your Results" box, click "Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals" and "Article" for "Document Type."
  7. Set all search boxes’ "Default Fields" to "AB abstract or author-supplied abstract."
  8. Enter two or three words from your "Subject Descriptors" that you wrote for the previous question.
  9. Record the names of THREE articles in MLA or APA format. Each article must be at least 8 pages long
  10. Click on any of the article titles. Record THREE subject terms given

MLA Bibliography

  1. Return to Cleveland State University Library’s web page
  2. Click "Indexes and Abstracts".
  3. Click "Alphabetical Title List of Indexes and Abstracts"
  4. Click "M"
  5. Click "MLA International Bibliography" (If you do this from off-campus, you will be directed to enter your name and CSU ID number. Do so, and you’ll be in).
  6. Do a Keyword search, using two of the terms you wrote for the previous question.
  7. Record IN APA FORMAT ONLY the names of two articles. Each article must be at least 5 pages.
  8. Click on any of the article titles. Record THREE subject words/phrases given.
