FINAL PROJECT

Choose one of the following:

1) Create two projects using the demo of While my Guitar Gently Weeps

a) Set the audio to the grid and create a suitable arrangement

b) Warp the grid to match the audio and create a suitable arrangement

c) Incorporate the following:

i) Marker track that clearly illustrates the structure of the song

ii) All tracks and clips clearly labeled

iii) VariAudio to either correct pitch or the create “harmonies” and variations

iv) At least 8 MIDI tracks that use:

(1) different recording techniques (annotate them in notepad)

(2) a variety of Synthesizers (At least two tracks must use the same instance of HALion on different MIDI channels)

(3) MIDI Modifiers, Inserts

(4) MIDI automation, controllers,

v) Mixdown that makes use of:

(1) FX track and sends

(2) EQ

(3) Compression

(4) Automation (volume, Pan, effects)

(5) Correct MIX for room 123 (make the final mix from the teacher station)

vi) Save the file to the S drive in the MP-III Final Folder

2) Original composition using recorded material and MIDI

a) All audio must be set to the grid (either warp the audio or the grid)

b) Standard song length – repetitions need to have a certain amount of variation

c) Everything listed in 1-c

3) Arrangement of an existing audio file: Examples could be:

a) Contemporary arrangement of a classical piece, either in its entirety or some rearrangement certain sections.

b) Modern arrangement of a vintage piece: a model can be what was done with 50s music in “Dirty Dancing”. You can make the song longer by adding repeats, intro, solos etc.
