Required Text: Earth System's History, Steven M. Stanley

My goal for this course is to introduce you to basic principles of geology and how these are applied to understand the history of the Earth which is preserved in the rock record. We will use a number of resources including Worldwide Web to understand these processes. The course will consist of multimedia presentations, in-class exercises, discussions and case study presentations to illustrate these important concepts.

The lowest midterm grade will be dropped and there will be NO MAKE UP EXAMS. Exceptions can only be made for medical excuses with written documentation from a doctor. You must notify me when medically possible, otherwise it will count as your lowest exam grade.
