There are intermittent complaints that Information Science lacks theory. This session, the fifth annual session on theories of Information Science, provided a forum for theoretical work in Information Science. Speakers from three different countries (U.S., Canada, and Finland) examined theory relating to the conference theme, "Information Access in the Global Information Economy."
