PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
1981 - present: Professor of Hydrogeology at Kent State University;
1976 - 1981: Associate Professor at Kent State University; teaching and directing research programs in hydrogeology and geothermics, and consulting on various hydrogeologic and geothermal projects; courses taught: Hydrogeology, Quantitative Hydrogeology, Hydrogeochemistry, Introduction to Contaminant Hydrogeology, Advanced Contaminant Hydrogeology, Geothermics, Drilling Technology, Fundamentals of Numerical Modeling in Hydrogeology, Physical Geology.
1975 - 1976: Senior Hydrogeologist with Hydro-Search, Inc., Reno, Nevada; planning and leading geothermal exploration and evaluation program in the Western U.S.A. with a team of two geologists, two geophysical survey field crews and a landman; field mapping and sampling, interpretation and integration of the geophysical, geological, hydrogeological and hydrochemical surveys.
1974 - 1975: Visiting Scientist, Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA 02139; on research grant appointment from the US-Israel Bi-National Science Foundation; working on the interpretation of heat flow data from Israel and the Middle East.
1963 - 1978: Staff Geologist and Senior Hydrogeologist with Geological Survey of Israel, Jerusalem, Israel; during 1974-78, 1969 and 1966 on leaves of absence, working in U.S.A., Iran and South Korea; exploration, research and development of ground water resources in Southern Israel and Sinai Peninsula; aquifer tests and evaluation of ground water resources; experience in hydrogeology of arid zones, with both - carbonate, and clastic aquifers, as well as with joint and fracture systems in igneous formations; environmental impact statements for various mineral mining industries; dewatering of mines; industrial waste and effluents disposal; investigations of ground water and brines associated with Jordan-Dead Sea and Suez-Red Sea Rift System; initiated and directed the national program for geothermal exploration in Israel; planning, directing and conducting heat flow measurements, survey and sampling of hot springs, geological mapping and geophysical surveys.
1969: Senior Hydrogeologist with Jiroft Project for Regional Development, Iran (Kerman Province); subcontracted by Balasha & Jalon Engineering Consultants, Ltd. of Haifa, Israel, for IRAB Engineering, Inc., Teheran, Iran, and Louis Berges Construction, Inc., Teheran, Iran; evaluation of ground water resources; planning, designing, and drilling supervision of 80 exploration and exploitation water wells; aquifer tests design, supervision and interpretation; ground water modelling and budget studies.
1966 - 1967: Senior Technical Advisor to the Union of Land Improvement Associations, Ministry of Forestry and Agriculture, Republic of Korea; Chief Advisor for Ground Water Research and Development; conducted one-year field, lab and office workshop on the theory and practice of ground water research and development to a group of state geologists and geophysicists; test drilling and aquifer evaluation studies.
1962 - 1963: Self-employed: drilling well-site supervision and geology; ground water and oil/gas drilling projects.
1960 - 1962: Military Service in Israel Defence Forces.
1959 - 1960: Geologist with Israel Mining Industries, Ltd.;exploration for phosphates in Israel.

1976 - present: numerous hydrogeological projects for site characterization, aquifer testing, ground water quality, modeling, and geothermal exploration in U.S.A. and Central America for private and public developments, municipal and rural water supply systems, waste disposal sites, etc. Professional training for hydrogeologists in Poland. Expert opinions and testimonials in a number of litigations and public hearings concerning pollution of aquifers, and protection of ground water resources.

Over fifty peer reviewed papers published in national and international scientific journals and books; over seventy papers presented at various national and international meetings and conferences; over one hundred proprietary technical reports.
