Lab (2)
Problem Solving with C++, Walter
Savitch
Introduction to Computers and
C++ Programming
Getting
Started
Every Monday and Wednesday you will perform a Lab
activity. Each Lab is extracted from a set of Laboratories attached to your
textbook and modified appropriately to meet the needs of this class.
Most of the Labs will be divided in 3 parts: a PreLab (not always present), a Set of Activities, and a
PostLab.
-
The PreLab is a homework that contains a set of questions that
will test your conceptual preparation for your next lab.
-
The Set of Activities contains a set of small problems
that you are required to solve in class.
-
The PostLab contains a larger problem that requires
the understanding of all the previous parts of the Lab and can be completed
at home.
To complete the Lab follow the
instructions that are given in the Lab.
Here are some important information
that you will need to know:
What is the
PreLab and when is the PreLab issued?
- The PreLab will test
your preparation for your successive Lab.
- When issued, PreLab will be issued on Monday.
- The PreLab is counted as an HW, therefore its grade
added to your HW grade and NOT towards your Lab grade.
- The PreLab is due by 12:29pm of the immediately coming
Monday (no delays are permitted for PreLabs)
When are the Set of Activities and the
PostLab issued?
- The Set of Activities
and the PostLab are issued every Monday.
- The Set of Activities must be performed and
terminated possibly in class. The Post Lab should be initiated in class and can
be terminated at home. Both the Set of Activities and the Post Labs are due
by the first Monday following the Monday the Lab has been issued, before the beginning of next Lab.
Where are the instructions for returning a
lab?
- The instructions for returning your lab are described at the end of each lab, unless stated otherwise by your teacher or lab instructor.
What should I return?
- Again, all the delivables are indicated at the end of each lab.
In general,
- Write all the answers to the questions inside each
lab into one Word file that you will print and return to the Lab Instructor. Please mark
clearly each question you are trying to answer.
- Write the C++ programs as requested and be sure to
name the files as indicated in each Lab.
- Transfer all the deliverables to a local machine and
collect them in one
folder named YourNameLabX (e.g. GuercioLab2).
- Compress the Folder (use a Zip or a Rar Program) and
attach it to the e-mail for submission. Use the Subject YourNameLabX.
- Follow the instructions and any other specific detail that is given to you at
the end of the Lab.
What is the deadline for each Lab?
- Each Lab (the Set of
Activities and the Post Lab) issued on Monday, must be turned
by the beginning of next Monday Lab, unless stated otherwise by your
instructor.
- Unless otherwise state by your instructor, each PreLab issued on Monday
must be returned by the beginning of next Monday Lab.
