Into the Third Year I
He's been mugging for the camera a lot more lately, trying out different looks.
Alec's inherited his sister's bed (who inherited it from me, actually...It was my bed as a teenager). Before any such ownership-change happens, though, our dedicated sleep experts must break in the bed for the new occupant. It's not quite ready yet.
As this very long and cruel winter finally started to wind down, I took the kids to the park on the Ides of March when it got up into the 50s.
A few minutes later...
Sleep trumps hunger the following night at dinner.
Man Down! Repeat...Man Down!
My two helpers when I did grocery shopping without Mommy during my Spring Break.
Heading out with his walking stick on the first day of Spring. It was sunny, but not too warm.
The next day was one of those rare days when both Ava and Alec were in daycare together, as she was off for Spring Break, and I had a lot of work to do. Mommy and I have noticed that Alec needs a better fitting jacket....
It was definitely haircut time again, and having Mommy there to calm him and give him things to read was a must. He didn't do too well this time, and Nancy had to concentrate hard to work on a moving target.
But the result was well worth it.
We've been trying to get Alec to join us sitting at the table, but he often bolts after a few minutes and goes to explore the house without having eaten much, so I then have to chase him down and put him in his high chair.
Carter is amazingly tolerant of Alec and lets him get close for long visits sometimes.
"Sorry, Alec. You hit it over the trees into the woods, so we can't play anymore."
At the two-and-a-half year mark, May 17, 2009.
