This Exam is due May 13th at 10 a.m. No late exams will be accepted. Exams may be typed or handwritten but must be properly documented. If information is used from textbooks please cite the pages. Be sure to answer all questions in detail. Give examples and definitions as needed. On the 13th you will hand in the essays and the identifications.

Identifications (4 points each)

Each student will answer five of the following. Remember to think about the questions who, what, when, why, where and the significance.

Essays (25 points each)

Each student will answer three of the following essays in detail.

  1. Explain Wilson's 14 points and his role in trying to get them adopted. Why did he fail?
  2. Is the Treaty of Versailles a cause of WWII-why or why not?
  3. Discuss the main causes of the Great Depression. Do not just list them but explain them.
  4. Why are the 1920s called the Roaring '20s? Give specific examples.
  5. Explain the role of women during WWII.
  6. What were the reasons given for dropping the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Why were so many different arguments needed?

The last five points will come on a short essay you will answer on May 13th during the final exam period.
