    This set, also known as the WEST GALWAY SET, is from Galway County, Ireland.
    Dance-out:  Dance two bars in-place, without turning, down-2-3, down-2-3 or
              down-2-3, down-2-kick.
    Gents dance forward on the left foot and ladies begin forward on the right foot.
    Swing in waltz hold.
    Bar counts (quantities of measures) for patterns are shown in bold.
    The total bar count for each Figure includes an eight-bar introduction of music.
    First side couple is on the left of the first top couple.
    Documentation is based upon workshops taught by Connie Ryan at Cape May, New
              Jersey USA in October 1996 and by Tony Ryan at Toronto, Canada in May 2004.

  SET FORMATION   FIGURE 1 -- POLKAS (200 BARS)
Dance an ordinary polka step (down-1-2-3)
          and polka-batter (1 and 2 and 123).
ADVANCE AND RETIREHOUSE HALF-WAY AROUND
All couples: advance and retire twice, in a waltz hold, facing into the set, dancing
          the 1 and 2 and 123 pattern (polka-batter)8;
revolve three times to house in waltz hold half-way around and face in and
          dance the final two bars on-the-spot (dance-out)8;
advance and retire twice as above8;
house to half-way around as above8;
LADIES CHAINSWING
Top ladies: forearm chain -- gents follow the lady around at his position, holding left forearms;
          ladies chain to home also8.
All couples: swing in waltz hold6, dance-out2;
Side ladies: forearm chain -- gents follow the lady around at his position, holding left forearms;
          ladies chain to home also8.
All couples: swing in waltz hold6, dance-out2;
ADVANCE AND RETIREDANCE IN-LINECROSSOVER & TURN TO-PLACE AT OPPOSITE
Top couples: REPEAT "MARKER" advance and retire once, in waltz hold4; 
advance, release hands and line-up in the center with gents on the outside4;
opposite ladies and gents right-arm hook around once on-the-spot (in the
          center of the set)4;
left-arm hook with partner and turn one and one-half turns into the
          opposite position4;
repeat from   REPEAT "MARKER"   to home16.
Side couples: repeat from   REPEAT "MARKER"   32.
LADIES SWING ALL AROUND
All ladies: dance in front of the gent2 and, in turn, swing6 each left gent then partner32.
ADVANCE AND RETIREHOUSE HALF-WAY AROUND
All couples: advance and retire twice, in a waltz hold, facing into the set, dancing
          the 1 and 2 and 123 pattern (polka-batter)8;
revolve three times to house half-way around and face in and dance the final two

Top ladies: REPEAT "MARKER" crossover (exchange places), dancing right-shoulder-to-right-shoulder4;

All couples: dance in-place, in waltz hold (no turns)2.

pinwheel with the left hand and keep lefts in the center4;
lead around with gent’s right hand in the lady’s right hand at her shoulder
          and the lady’s left around the gent’s waist; end turning the lady to
          place by pulling the right hands up/over8;
