FACULTY

The faculty for the IBE trip will be Professor Lawrence J. Marks, Department of Marketing.  Students receive 3 semester credits for this graduate class.

TRAVEL TO AND FROM SWITZERLAND

Although students purchase their own plane tickets, travel arrangements will be coordinated with Dr. Marks.  Current plans suggest that the group of students and the faculty member will meet at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and travel to Geneva with a return flight from Paris. Upon arrival in Geneva, the group is met at the airport and transported by bus to the John Knox Center. Following the conclusion of the program, students often travel (with pre-arrangement) on their own or together with friends or family, or return home to Cleveland.

Students who wish to develop personal travel plans for places they would like to visit on their own following conclusion of the program need to determine a date of departure for the return flight to the U. S.  This is a requirement for securing reasonable round trip airfare.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The students and faculty reside at the John Knox Center (go), a facility which occupies several buildings in quiet surroundings about 15 minutes by bus from downtown Geneva (the bus stop is a 10 minute walk from the Center).  While at the Center, cafeteria style breakfast and dinner are typically provided.  The meals are eaten in a  "family style" and everyone clears their own table.  The John Knox Centre,  27 ch.des Crets-de-Pregny, CH-1218 Grand Saconnex, GE; phone 011-44-22-747-00-00; fax 011-44-22-747-00-99.

Students live in dormitory rooms generally set up for one or two students. Typically, bathrooms and showers are dormitory style.  Students should recognize that some conveniences like laundry facilities and spacious showers are not what they may be accustomed to at home.  There is a Kent State lounge, which has a refrigerator for food and drinks.  However, no cooking is allowed at the Center.

While in France, we will stay in hotels, in double rooms.  In these hotels, rooms will have a bathroom and will have either a shower stall or a bathtub with a shower head on a hose.
