Continuity Editing

Continuity is the illusion of continuous action or continuous reality.   Editors who wish to achieve continuity use many of the same techniques we discussed earlier in the semester when you practiced in-camera editing.

Your reading is an article from Videomaker Magazine:

The Grammar of Editing
Reprinted from Videomaker Magazine

The author of this article describes three styles of transitions or ways of changing from one shot to another during editing.  Pay special attention to the section on matching action, because you will use this technique in Project C.

If you enjoyed reading these articles, you might like to visit Videomaker Magazine's Web site, where you can read more articles, order merchandise, or subscribe to the magazine.
