    This non-progressive, 16-bar, two hand dance is to begin with partners side-by-side
              (gent on the left);  no other particular order for couples-on-the-floor is specified.
    Change places:  remember the right-rear principle when partners change places when
              dancing sideways namely, the dancer moving to the right, dances to the rear
              of his or her partner.
    Gents dance forward on the left foot and ladies begin forward on the right foot.
    Bar counts (quantities of measures) for patterns are shown in bold.

    HORNPIPES or REELS (Variable BARS)
All couples: REPEAT  "MARKER" with a walking step, in open waltz hold (gent's arm on the lady’s waist behind
          and the lady’s left arm on the gent’s right shoulder / upper arm), dance
          forward 1-2-3-stamp2;
partners change places (see heading) with a walking step 1-2-3-stamp2;
staying near, partners turn out from one another (gent clockwise, lady
          anticlockwise) and end facing; dance a walking step 1-2-3-stamp2;
in waltz hold, dance on-the-spot (or slightly to the gent’s left / lady’s right
          and return)2;
 
[ The following Crossover steps with Reverse the lady plus the dancing
  in-place are five-step patterns (step, step, 3-4-5 or slow, slow,
  quick-quick-slow) similar to those danced in the Achill Schottiche,
  Kildownet Half Set and other dances. ]
 
Crossover step with Reverse the lady, (1 bar) :
          still in waltz hold, reverse the lady; the gent steps left across right to
          the lady’s left side as the lady dances straight backward;
          though both dancers move backward-and-forward, the crossover step
          by only the gent makes it appear they must move further;
          ladies change-weight to the leading foot (right) as they retire then step
          forward and return weight to both feet (feet together) to-place
          (the first step of the five-step)0.5;
          the gent withdraws the left foot to starting place as the lady dances straight
          forward (the second step of the five-step)0.5;
          still in waltz hold, dance on-the-spot (the lift 3-4-5 of the five-step)1;
 
          reverse the lady with the gent stepping to the other side; the gent steps
          right across left to the lady’s right side as the lady dances straight
          backward on the left foot (the first step of the five-step)0.5;
          the gent withdraws right foot to the starting place as the lady dances
          straight forward (the second step of the five-step)0.5;
          still in waltz hold, dance on-the-spot (the lift 3-4-5 of the five-step)1;
 
dance one-half turn to face the starting direction of line one above2;
in open waltz hold, with a walking step, dance forward walk-stamp then
          walk-stamp (gent:  L-R, then R-L;  lady:  R-L then L-R)2;
repeat from   REPEAT  "MARKER"   as desired.
