At the ALA LITA Secure Systems and Services Interest Group (SSS-IG) meeting in Philadelphia, on February 1, 1999, two informal presentations were given at a session entitled:
Got Milk? Got Cookies? Got Authentication?
Both presentations illustrate the use of cookies
and tokens for authentication.
The first speaker, David Barber, Director, New Services Development at OhioLINK, spoke on:
"The OhioLINK Authentication Project: A multi-institutional, cookie-based
authentication system for local and remote resources."
Both of these presentations are PowerPoint presentations converted to PDF. Whether you use a PDF-Viewer browser plugin or have your browser launch the Acrobat Reader, once the presentation is loaded, you can page-down through it with your down-arrow key.
Thanks to David Barber and to Leo Cronin and Stuart McLean for making their presentations available.
