Workflow
A typical usage scenario involves three major steps:
Determine topology of the experiment
Identify and prepare the traffic models
Configure and deploy traffic models on endpoints
Note
This documentation focuses on the 3rd step of the process.
Experiment Design on FABRIC
Please see FABRIC documentation on how to setup an experiment topology. The design of the specific measurements and experiment may vary from user to user in network science and engineering research. Many testbed documentation pages refer to starting points such as this one.
Traffic Models
Please see our earlier project documentation for model generation.
Traffic Model Bundle
A special bundle file is included in the model directory that comes with this documentation and along with the user interface tool that launches the interactive model loading and deployment software suite. The bundle includes example models generated based on smart home device traffic that was captured in the project team member’s home. They provide an overview of the model characteristics in the user interface in order to help in choosing the correct node roles for the model-based traffic generation on FABRIC topology.
