I currently attend Kent State University's School of Library and Information Science graduate program. The extension is located in Columbus, Ohio at the State Library of Ohio. I work there as a lab monitor part-time and at the Columbus Jewish Historical Society as an Assistant Archivist. I hope to work in an archival setting of some sorts, because I love History. I have an intense intellectual curiosity about the world, and how we came to be where we are now. In 2007, I attended The Ohio State University and received a Bachelor of Arts in History. I took many History courses including American Slavery, The History of Ohio, 19th and 20th Century German History, and the Holocaust. Between 2000 and 2004, I attended Columbus State Community College and received an Associates Transfer degree. I cherish my time there, community college settings are catered to adult learners much more than traditional university settings in the higher education world. I have been to numerous American Civil War battlefield sites in many states including:
I have also visited both the United States Memorial Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. and the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, California. I enjoy reading non-fiction history related books on subjects mostly related to wars like soldier memoirs, diaries, and journals because they give real insight into everyday life in hard times. Some books I have read are A Vietcong Memoir: An Inside Account of the Vietnam War and Its Aftermath by Truong Nhu Tang, and The Lost: A Search for Six of Six Million by Daniel Mendelsohn. Both are are very moving stories and are packed full of real life experiences from the individual point of view. I recommend reading them if you are a history lover. |
